Department of Early and Primary Education Having a pedagogical approach covering the education of children from the period from 2 ½ years of age to ten years of age, Department of Early and Primary Education follows a holistic approach in that it focuses on physical, intelligence/cognitive, emotional, and social education. Maintaining a healthy synthesis of the time-tested approaches in pre-school and primary education, a curriculum which is designed to meet the needs of each child is followed. Considering building self-esteem as necessary to pupils’ future success in school, staff encourages self-confidence, curiosity, and self-discipline and a variety of learning experiences are designed to meet the children's needs in the various areas of development. Parent involvement is one of the essentials of the success of the Early and Primary School Curriculum designed by the Department of Early and Primary Education. Preschool children are provided with early literacy, awareness and intervention in order to perform better during the later years. This leads to success once they enter the Primary School, and put them on the right track by being well prepared with the right and appropriate equipment. |
