Winners Announced for Teachers Memoir-Writing Contest

We are pleased to announce winners of the All-Pakistan Teachers Memoir-Writing Contest 2007, sponsored by the PAKTURK ICEF.

The challenge was to write a vivid memory in teaching which left a lasting effect/memory on a teacher’s life and profession; the competition was open to all teachers across Pakistan, i.e. teachers of PakTurk and other private/government schools.

The Contest celebrates the most stylistically and creatively composed real teaching memoirs. In this connection and observing the focus of the contest, ordinary memoirs, fiction, departmental or educational psychology passages ripped from textbooks or websites have not been decreed eligible, though they were awarded marks for the courtesy’s sake but were not taken into final consideration.

A central aspect of the contest is to highlight the importance of teachers and noble teaching profession as the agents of nation-building and how teachers and teaching benefit society and impact on people’s lives.
